2 Degrees Portland is a recent initiative by Creative Portland to create a network of people who want to sustain and grow the city’s economy by welcoming creators and innovators to the area — a sort of 21st century welcome wagon. We believe it’s not “Six Degrees of Separation,” but closer to two — an attractive quality for many.

What’s in it for you? 2 Degrees Portland will hold informal gatherings every other month, so that we can have fun, get to know one another better and stay better connected. You will get to meet new creative people coming through town and also know that you are strengthening our creative community by helping newer members tap into our growing network of talented, motivated people.

Since our idea of the Creative Economy includes everyone from marine scientists to photographers, web designers to biotech PhDs, and ballet dancers to software engineers you won't be meeting the same folks you usually do. 2 Degrees is a place for cross-pollination of ideas, as well as a way to build the critical mass we need to thrive.
